About the Band

Onye and The Messengers
Afro World-Beat Band!

A primal Afro World-Beat Band with roots in the spirit of ancient Africa, Onye and the Messengers creates a tribal world village celebration of body and soul. The band rocks African rhythms, funky blues, jazz, reggae, latin, rock and world music.

The grooves are polyrhythmic and the vocals range from traditional call-and-response, chanting styles and wailing melody lin
es associated with funk and soul music.

Together We Celebrate Life!
